My wife had to go into full time care, this has been hard to deal with emotionally. After a series of falls in the care home followed by a sickness bug, she has gone down hill quite rapidly. This week my dog, a 10 year old Australian Terrier, suddenly developed diabetes. After several vet visits she is now improving but not yet out danger. to occasionally self reflect on the past. Cancel culture on social media
platforms seems to be having consistent criticism amongst free speech advocates
who comment on the long term and lasting effects on career paths. I can attest
to the effects it has in the woodturning world in the UK.

This year I was paired with Jim Seyfried in the US. Below you will see both my and Jim's pieces. I am not a technically skilled turner so I was very pleased to receive Jim's swap piece. I sent 3 small pieces as my swap, a print and bowl form made from it plus a patinated panel. Stay warm!I have been playing with several text to image AI software apps to produce some personal imagery.Coupled with this I have produced a series of pdf’s to show how designs can be illustrated for stimulus to making. They have been uploaded to World of Woodturners site for members to use or comment. I might produce an e-book later to download from my Philip Streetinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13702883200439662975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903029338614371760.post-74587686487356202802022-08-28T22:00:00.001+01:002022-08-28T22:00:54.973+01:00Work in progress After long break, some work in progress, more to comePhilip Streetinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13702883200439662975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903029338614371760.post-76183420836195221912022-05-14T19:15:00.004+01:002022-05-14T19:15:55.768+01:00More treatmentThis coming week I have the excitement of laser treatment on my left eye. Blood vessels have been growing so need zapping to burst them. Unfortunate consequence may be loss of some peripheral vision. All more or less clear on endoscopy and colonoscopy but no answers yet on iron deficiency anaemia. Had an iron infusion to see if that helps.Philip Streetinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13702883200439662975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903029338614371760.post-83165749591571088362022-05-11T16:28:00.002+01:002022-05-11T16:29:42.139+01:00New kit After a long wait caused by the shutdown in China my new 3d scanner has arrived. Now waiting a month for next appointment with various scans etc. to find out what the next steps might be. Injections cost £800+ each time!Three more radiotherapy sessions to go next week for completion of prostrate cancer treatment. Next is investigation into iron deficiency anaemia Philip Streetinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13702883200439662975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903029338614371760.post-50282895097252241262022-01-20T08:02:00.002+00:002022-01-20T08:02:46.124+00:00I to eyeUntil you have eyesight issues it is possibly impossible to understand just how we rely on clear vision.Hospital today to begin a course of treatment to try to improve the sight in my left eye after a central optical vein occlusion (blood clot). Today I have an injection into my eye. Sounds like fun. Next week I have the prelims for radiotherapy for prostate cancer. experienced during the ageing process. This time I am endeavouring to express
some subtle and not so subtle changes in visual acuity that have come about by
an eye stroke or technically termed a Central Retinal Vein Occlusion.
Apparently this causes a haemorrhaging Philip Streetinghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13702883200439662975noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6903029338614371760.post-40958127699535122082021-11-25T08:41:00.001+00:002021-11-25T08:41:39.795+00:00World of Woodturners SwapPleased to have a swap piece from Canadian turner Herman de Vries.
